In September 2025, Boorrumpah Goupong Aboriginal Corporation hosted a Men's Camp at Harding's Paddock, bringing together men, young people and community members for a weekend of culture, connection and wellbeing on Country.
Set amongst the bushland, the camp provided opportunities to participate in cultural activities, share knowledge, strengthen relationships and connect with Elders and mentors in a safe and supportive environment. Through shared experiences, participants built confidence, resilience and a deeper appreciation for culture while creating lasting friendships and positive role models for the next generation.
A strong focus of the camp was supporting men's mental health, encouraging open conversations, peer support and connection through culture. By combining cultural learning with time on Country and community engagement, BGAC continues to create spaces that promote healing, strengthen identity and foster social and emotional wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men, young people and their families.
